Innovative Tourism Initiatives for Diversifying Greece’s Travel Experience
Through extensive research conducted as part of the project “Development of Attica Thematic Tourism Facilitator”, innovative activities previously underrepresented in Greece’s tourism sector have been introduced. These endeavors have the potential to enhance the tourism landscape by offering unique experiences and accessing previously untapped market segments. The following are examples of such activities, identified through our research:

New Activities :
Carnivcal Groups
Groups of carnivalists from the famous carnivals of Attica will now have the chance to present their services, which include providing costumes as part of the package. Tourists can purchase these services, effectively becoming members of the groups and participating in the vibrant parade festivities.
Air Traffic control
Experts in aviation will be able to offer specialized tours of air traffic control at the Athens airport. Aviation enthusiasts will be able to learn about the processes involved in guiding aircraft safely through the skies and observe real-time air traffic management in action.Â
Medical Pet Tourism
Athens-Attica has a large number of Veterinary Clinics with very competitive prices compared to abroad. Although medical tourism has developed, there is practically no medical tourism for pets.
